The announcement had sent waves of excitement through the school and students, it had been two years since the last one so people had lost hope that the tournament would be returning to the school even though it was a tradition. It was almost certain considering the danger it presented many hoped they would not have it again and let it fade into history, if they didn’t it would definitely free up some space in the Mental Ward at St. Mungo’s. Though when had Hogwarts ever been concerned with the goings on of St. Mungo’s? Never, and it was highly unlikely they ever would be. Even though there had been some controversy over it due to the dangerous nature of the tournament the heads of the school would not be swayed from their determination to make this event happen, it was a critical part of the school and always would be. It was a school tradition; nothing was going to make the current administration not do it, least of all naysayers. The Participants, as well as their parents, knew the danger they were facing in this tournament and willingly consented to it. No one was ever forced to take part in the event; it was considered an honor to take part in it so naturally there were always plenty of volunteers.

You had to be reckless and not have any sense of self preservation to enter this tournament (or so most people thought), many a participants had been driven to madness and never recovered from it. In fact the last champion Clover Ravenbrook hadn’t been seen since graduation, which was par the course for the other participants. To be honest at least she had made it to graduation, some of the others had just vanished after the year was over and hadn’t been heard from again but surely nothing sinister had happened to them. Many people wondered why someone would want to subject themselves to something traumatic and potentially mutilating. Perhaps they didn’t know or understand how this tournament worked when it came time, or perhaps they themselves were simply out of their minds. Whatever the reason was people entered and participate, it made for a glorious event and much amusement for spectators and judges alike. Of course maybe amusement wasn’t the best term, maybe it just depended on how mad you were at the end of the day.

Earlier this afternoon Headmaster Emile Rousseau had summoned all the participants after lunch for pumpkin juice and biscuits under the pretext of discussing the coming tournament, however the devious man had actually slipped sleeping potion in both the biscuits and juice. The participants all filed into his office dutifully like the good little ducks they were, sitting down they took the snack he offered not once considering that it was a trick. Besides what kind of horrible professor would trick such sweet and innocent childern? Emile chuckled to himself as they all drifted to sleep; it was a trick he had used last time to get the participants to the arena. None of them had been in the last one and none of the participants of the last one were still in school so the new ones had no warning about his trick. Of course he didn’t feel bad about it; it was tradition and one of the only things he could do to repay the students for the headaches they frequently gave him. So perhaps he was just a bit sadistic when it came down to it, or perhaps it was just simply the nature of the game from now on. Certainly no one would be coddling the participants during this and much worse was guaranteed to happen to them, so if they couldn’t handle a simple trick and sleeping potion then they should reconsider taking part in this event.

As the participants woke up they would probably be a little confused finding themselves sprawled out in the tournament area as opposed to Emile’s office not to mention they probably had a bit of a headache. They could see the faces of the fans, friends, family, school, and loved ones watching them from the stands. However, soon they were shrouded in mist and faded from sight. The area quickly drew dark and a forest began to appear around the participant, the moon hidden mostly behind the clouds just the barest of bare from being full. Were you in the Forbidden Forest? Unfortunately only time would tell. If you were then it certainly couldn’t mean anything good at all, as it was still dangerous and brimming with horrible creatures who would eat you without a second thought. You should probably hope you were in a different forest; then again that didn’t mean it would actually be better than the Forbidden Forest, so perhaps you didn’t need to hope quite so much as with the Forbidden Forest you knew what dangers awaited you whereas this one was a mystery. Seeing a flash of white off to your left you can’t help but be curious, what else could possibly be here in the forest with you? Are you brave enough to find out?

You can’t go forward by staying where you are so you must work to complete the task so you can get out of here. It was entirely too late to try and quit now, you had committed to this. Not to mention the fact they probably wouldn’t let you pull out at this point, you’d decided you wanted this fate. Besides, it would be dreadfully embarrassing if you quit now before it even really started and it would certainly only make you the mockery of the school if you did quit. Looks like you didn’t have a choice did you? Off to the left where you saw the blur is thick with underbrush and briars certain to stick you, and off to the right the trees are so thick it will be difficult to get through. If the participants turn around they will see nothing but pure darkness, and if they walked that way they’d soon hit an invisible barrier. Looks like forwards was the only way to go for the chosen participants, though one couldn’t be sure of what lie ahead of them.

Ava was confused. One minute she had been enjoying pumpkin juice and a cookie, the next she was outside not remembering how she even got there. On top of that, she had a really bad headache. What happened? Clutching her head a little, she looked around and saw people sitting in the stands not really recognizing any as she couldn't focus that much on faces. As she began to see a forest forming around her, she started flipping out a little. She took her wand out as she didn't know what could be coming at her and she whispered: "Lumos Maxima!" to get enough light to at least give her a chance not to trip as she started walking forward, biting her lower lip. This was really happening... she was competing in the EHC and she had no idea what she would be facing. She was really scared that Acromantulas were going to come after her. After all she was deathly afraid of spiders...

So there she was surrounded by trees, clutching her wand, walking slowly, ready to just burn anything if needed. She probably wasn't the bravest, but at least she tried to keep calm. Tried was the keyword here. Too bad she couldn't count on her friends, as they were also competing. She moved slowly to make as little noise as possible as if it would help her. She just kept walking muttering: "Why did I enter? Please no spiders, please..." A stray tear rolled down her cheek and she quickly wiped it off using her sleeve. "Come on Ava, you can do this... just burn everything if you need to..." That thought of just casting incendio everywhere made her chuckle. She quickly shook the thought off and tried to concentrate on her surroundings. After all, something could be coming at her any time now. She stopped for a minute to look around, praying that she would be safe and sighed before going forward again.

The coily haired girl kept walking and suddenly tripped on a large tree root. She goaned as ahe got up wiping dirt off her face, then remembering she had a wand and quickly casted : "Finite." to shut the light spell off and casted "Scourgify" pointing at her face to clean it and then casted back "Lumos maxima" and started walking again, pausing every now and then to point her wand to see if there was anything coming at her. She thought she should have been more careful about the cookies and juice she had been offered earlier. She shivered a bit as the air seemed to get colder as she walked through the forest. She decided she was going to fight as best as she could since she had no intention to die in that forest. "Wherever you are... whoever you are... come out already!", she called out a bit annoyed.

She sighed loudly as she decided to stop in her tracks. Looking behind her she could not see much besides trees and even if she was not scared of the dark it made her feel uneasy. What if she ended up falling asleep right there? What if she broke her wand and couldn't protect herself? What if that thing kept going on for days without food or water? Ava let out an angry scream and then started running as she kept going forward to wherever it would lead her. "Even detention wasn't as bad as this...well not that it's bad...at least I got a wand...Why am I talking to myself out loud?" She kept going and going and instead of feeling scared she felt angry and decided to channel this anger to fight whatever was coming.

The trickery the participants faced seemed to cause a serious discord, what had they been expecting when they signed up for this challenge? A walk on the lawns was definitely not it, and to be fair a walk in the Forbbidden Forest would’ve been much more pleasant when it came down to it to be honest. Upon awakening you could almost sense the optimism of the participants dying, it was almost invigorating. Although perhaps it would give them the proper motivation to push on and make the most of this challenge, or if they were unlucky it would shut them down. If it did it would be most unfortunate because they hadn’t even been truly pushed anywhere near their limits yet, though all in good time.

If Ava was stressed out already it seriously didn’t bode well for the young girl; this was just the beginning of the contest and nothing bad had even happened yet, then again it could be just a matter of perspective when it came down to it. How foolishly the wretches had entered this contest thinking it simple, reality was about to be a lot worse than they ever could’ve imagined. Perhaps she had entered this game slightly optimistic about how things would progress, or perhaps she was naive enough to think that because this was a school event things couldn’t really be that bad at the end of the day. Whatever her reasons were it appeared they may have been made on faulty logic, but it was far too late to reverse that now. A lesson was to be learned from haphazardly entering this tournament, whether she would realize what it was or not remained to be seen. Guess she would be paying for her thirst for adventure….

The girl lit her wand and quickly began stumbling around like a newborn baby animal who couldn’t find their own balance, surely she couldn’t think that was a good idea that wouldn’t draw attention could she? Oh, foolish child. Above her the trees began to sway with the weight of something heavy and the clicking of pincers was easily heard, surely such a brave girl couldn’t be afraid of some little spiders could she? Although she would be easy prey the spiders knew they weren’t allowed to eat her, there were greater plans for her yet. However, they’d never been instructed that they couldn’t nibble on her. Dropping down behind her silently one waited as it’s companion dropped down in front of her, taking the opportunity the spider behind her bit her ankle roughly. Tasing blood it squealed in delight before it and it’s companion returned to their original position watching her overhead, eyes glowing in the light of her wand.

Ava should be extremely careful trying to command the forest to do her bidding, it was very dangerous consider what secrets it held. Overhead the moon began to flicker, threatening to cut off the only source of natural light there was in the arena. Oh no if that happened surely monsters of untold would be unleashed on the forest. Perhaps the sweet girl should keep her accusations in check before she brought more troubles on herself, especially considering they surely would be that of the sinister kind. Although she didn’t seem to have much sense of self preservation when it came to being quiet when would be wise, such a shame but everyone had their own faults when it came down to it. An air of trouble seemed to cling to the girl, an air of anger as well. It was almost certain neither would do her any favors as this tournament progressed. A gentle breeze shook her hair, forcing it to tangle on some branches as if to remind her who was truly in charge here.

The trees were growing thick now and the underbrush seemed more gnarled here then in the surrounding areas. In the distance a noise started so quietly at first that your subconscious just ignored it but it was growing, suddenly it was so pronounced you wonder how you even missed it. It was the ticking of a grandfather clock, just hearing it was slightly oppressive like it was important and should mean something to you but you couldn’t remember what or why it was important. Ahead of you off to the left again you caught sight of the white blur from before, was it something alive? Before you could make sense of anything your attention was shifted elsewhere when an awful shrieking sound pierced the air, forcing you to your knees and to cover your ears out of fear they may bleed if you did. What could make such an awful sound, and why would they put you in a forest with it?

Recovery from such a screech would surely take some time, hopefully you thought about investing in some ear plugs after that. Ahead by the hollow of a tree you could barely make out a hole, and it drew you to it for some reason. You knew you had to get to it so you could go forward, taking a step forward you were suddenly jerked back by an invisible force. Surely your tailbone was going to be a little sore now and had you bumped your head? Looking back towards the tree you saw something white there again. Was that a rabbit? Oh dear lord, why was he wearing a waistcoat? As quickly as he was there he vanished again, certainly you must have hit your head harder than you thought when the force grabbed you. The screech echoed off to your right and in came a mostly indistinguishable shape, all you could make out was the flapping of cloth in the breeze. Coming forward the shape quickly pulled a sword from it’s robes. ”Foolish Child you never should’ve entered my domain. I will be your undoing.” The creature charged, it’s skill with the blade clear. A thought entered the back of your mind as if almost placed there, perhaps the hole could save you.

Before she even had time to process that an Acromantula stood before her, she winced in pain as another bit her ankle from behind and before she could cast a spell to blast them off, they seemed gone. She spotted something she thought were eyes staring at her as she looked around with her wand and tried to aim at where she thought were the spiders hoping to hit them. "Arania exumai!" She groaned and then kept as quiet as possible making sure her wand was no longer lit so she wouldn't draw too much attention to herself even if it was risky. Her face was probably as white as a sheet from seeing these spiders even if it was over....well she hoped they would not come back...

She closed her eyes for a split second wondering what crazy things could be next, and felt her haor tanhgle around branches and quickly removed her coily untamed haor from the branches. Hearing a strange noise she frowned a bot at it reminded her of a clock or something. Wondering what the white blurr was, she winced as she heard a shrieking sound forcing Ava to drop on her knees and cover her ears as she kept her wand in her hand as best as she could. If she'd lose her wand, she would be screwed. The anger she previously felt was soon replaced by confusion on what was making that sound. She spotted the hole and as she was drawn to it she saw that white rabbit and immediately thought of Alice in Wonderland. What the heck was going on?

Seeing the Creature with black robes holding a sword, Ava tried to figure out what she should do. Surely, trying to negociate with that thing would not go anywhere...Should she try that hole in the tree? Or was it a trap? Ava was getting more and more confused. She casted: "Flipendo!" at the creature coming at her so she'd have the chance to reach the hole as fast as she could. She was surprising herself that she actually tried to go through with whatever could be coming at her rather than being a coward and let herself be eaten by gigantic spiders or sliced by a sword.

There was much more to this competition then winning, and if the competitors hadn’t discovered that by now then there probably wasn’t much hope of them figuring it out ever. Every bit of them was about to be tested and as cliche as it sounded only the strong were going to survive, even then they were going to discover they weren’t as impenetrable as they thought. That wasn’t to say those who had been selected weren’t worthy of taking part in this challenge, just inevitably like the rest of life some were going to be better suited at this than others but even the most unlikely person could surprise everyone. This was the beginning of a journey for the majority of them and how they faired was completely up to them, well for the most part it was but they had to know that when they signed up for such madness.

So Ava learned that the light didn’t always guarantee safety in the forest, it was a lesson she’d do well to remember when in the real world too. The girl wondered what madness would approach her next and she should’ve known better, you must be more careful about what you wished for in this contest because you often bit off more way than you could ever manage to chew. Ava was young and hot headed though, maybe this contest could help bring her some much needed calm. Although the girl could only change or be different if she wanted to be, but the only one who could make that change was herself. While she may have gotten a hint of what was to come she shouldn’t expect that she knew exactly what was going to happen, things were different in this place. The nazgul chased her with vigor until the rabbit threw a brick at it’s head and knocked it out.

Piercing red eyes stared at you as you approached the hole, the rabbit was obviously disgruntled with your lack of haste in this matter. Honestly he had much better things to do then follow you around like some glorified babysitter, he was seriously beginning to question how intelligent you actually were. He was neither impressed by the fact you hadn’t found the hole without being led directly to it as well as the fact you hadn’t managed to avoid being caught in the traps of the forest as you got herded. ”You stupid child, this took you far too long. It’ll be your skin now.” The rabbit snarled, yellow teeth smiling at you. You were taking far too long to get into the hole so the impatient creature bent over and shoved you, though you got caught on the edges of the hole. ”Gluttonous child, far too many sweets.” He hissed. Giving your bum a good hard kick you came free of whatever was holding you and went tumbling into the abyss.

At first it seemed like a normal hole you were falling in, tree roots and soil decorated the wall with an occasional bug or snake but the further you fell the stranger things became. It started with a rusty desk lamp that had a broken globe and then several other pieces of furniture began to appear, unfortunately they were all broken and in disarray. Rusty nails were sticking out of the wall several inches and you were most certain to get caught on some, hopefully you were up to date on your tetanus shot. The clutter of broken furniture grew and you almost certainly got injured on the various bits scattered around the tight hole. Suddenly you got caught on the hands of a grandfather clock, the hands seemed to snag your clothes for some reason even though they were clearly razor sharp. After some struggling and certainly cuts you considered you plunge downwards ricocheting between the walls. A quick bounce off the mattress you crash through a white and black tiled ceiling and splatter on the floor. After gathering yourself up you stand up to take stock of the room, oh dear is that a chandelier next to you? A moment too late you realize you’re actually on the ceiling and go tumbling to the floor again, the real floor this time. You appear to be in some sorts of bedroom, presumably in a house, and the only door is locked.

Ava may not have been the bravest of them all and the most confident participant, but she wanted to prove something to herself and to everyone out there. She was relieved that the rabbit "helped" her with the Nazgul. However the insult provided by the rabbit made her clutch her wand tight and she would have hexed it as she was not happy with it. As she felt the rabbit push her down the hole, the words he used almost calling her fat made her want to hex the "helper" as well. However she didn't say a word and just went with it. Whatever was going to happen would happen, right? Tumbling down, Ava started to feel a little dizzy. She groaned as she noticed how weird things around her were becoming. "Charming decor...Seriously, it's terrible...I'm tempted to burn this thing down..." She groaned as she got a few scratches here and there from the nails until she got caught on the hands of a grandfather's clock.

Now bearing a few cuts on her body from that bloody clock as she was trying to get herself out of its grip, Ava plunged downwards, rebounding on walls and as if it wasn't enough, she bounced off a mattress splattering on the floor as she then crashed through a black and white tiled floor. Or so she thought before she noticed a chandelier. Tumbling again as she realised where she had been, she ended up on the real floor this time around and landed hard on her arm and shoulder. Getting herself up, she massaged her arm and groaned again. Remembering a muggle children's book she used to read when she was little, she sighed saying softly: "I am not Alice...Do I look like Alice? It reminds me of Alice..."

Noticing she seemed to be in a bedroom, she located the door and eyed it suspiciously. Before she reached it she stripped the bed from its sheets and casted a shrinking charm at them, shoving them into her pockets as if they were simple tissues. They could be helpful somehow, could they? Now facing the door, Ava casted "Alohomora" on it since it wouldn't open when she tried to open it at first. Pointing her wand in front of her as she carefully opened the door, thinking she was not safe anywhere. Who knew what would come at her next?

To say getting out of the bedroom was the easy part was an understatement, there was so much more left to do in this quaint house. Okay so perhaps it wasn’t such a quaint house, one really couldn’t tell from the inside with minimal decor and it wasn’t like you could see out the windows to see what it was like outside. Even if you did manage to get the shades up after a great struggle all you would see is complete darkness with no disconcernable shapes so it wouldn’t be helpful to peek outside would it. Besides it was highly unlikely given what had happened so far that you were in any place that was good, and if it had looked nice outside it was likely only a trick to lull you into a false sense of security. Tricks like that were effective though, they often distracted you from something that was important and that you should’ve been paying attention to. The door swung open at your spell and revealed an average, albeit dirty, set of stairs that descended at a normal angle. As you were making your way down the stairs you were suddenly thundered over by the rabbit, he took no care of what bits of you he stepped on. ”Ruining my home and setting us behind. How did I get stuck with such an imbecile?” He spat angrily at you. The last you saw of the creature was his coat tails as he disappeared through the wall. Of course being magical you know how barriers like this work.

Stepping through was easy, you entered a new room that has a rancid smell and it takes a moment to notice your surroundings because the stench is so bad. How could the rabbit live in a dump like this? Broken furniture and filth was everywhere, not to mention nothing was sturdy. Speaking of sturdy the stair you now stood on crumbled causing you to roll down into the heap of trash at the bottom and god knows what else, oh you’re definitely going to need a shower now and to pray you don’t get some sort of deadly disease from all this filth. Actually, it was probably best you got a booster on all your shots as a precaution. Standing up you catch sight of a ratty desk in the corner and catch a glimpse of the rabbit disappearing out a door. Approaching it and leaving to follow your “friendly” rabbit should be simple right? Unfortunately after several tries it is apparent Alohomora won’t open this door, in fact the last time you tried the knob it bit your hand. ”Okay dumbass, I’m clearly locked. Try and turn me one more time without unlocking me and it’ll be your finger next time. Besides your arse is far too big to fit through me right now Fecker. Maybe you should consider a diet.” The knob sprouted sourly at you. Oh dear locked, that meant you must find the key.

Turning around you get the distinct feeling something in the room has changed but you can’t put your finger on it until you look over the room again three more times. That Raven wasn’t on the ratty desk earlier, or was it and you didn’t realize it? Either way the bird was watching you suspiciously so you better be careful eh? Now where in the world would the key be hidden in this room? Why did a rabbit live in such squalor anyways? It obviously wasn’t sanitary but then again he didn’t seem to care much about that kind of thing given his yellow teeth. Better start digging for that key, and how were you going to fit through that door? Oh well you’d think about that when the time came. All was good and well until you noticed there was no longer just one door in the room, there were probably more like a dozen now of various shapes and sizes. All required different keys, which one would get you out of here? The sound of the ticking clock sounded in the distance again faintly, looked like you better make haste.

This dirty looking house was far from appealing to Ava. She could barely see anything and she was being careful not to draw too much attention to herself now. As the door opened, Ava saw stairs and wondered if they would collapse under her or something crazy like that. She no longer had trust in anything surrounding her. However, she decided it'd be best to get down these stairs and maybe try to find a way out as quick as she could.

Just as she thought it was too quiet, the silly rabbit made its apparition and stepped all over her. She tried kicking him off as he spoke. His words made her angry and she had enough self-control not to shout back what she was thinking. Home? How can a silly rabbit live like this? Who's the imbecile now? You are ,fluffy yellow-teeth rabbit!! I didn't ask to end up it this house... I didn't ask to be pushed by your filthy little self... She just rolled her eyes after that.

Ava followed the rabbit through the wall entering a new room. "It stinks in here!" she said through gritted teeth as her eyes started becoming watery from the stench. As she expected, the stairs crumbled and Ava rolled down into the heap of trash at the bottom or whatever was there to "soften her fall". She tried to clean herself up by using "Scourgify" a few times hoping this would be the last time she'd get dirty...even though she was prepared for the worst.

Catching a glimpse of the silly rabbit disappearing out a door, Ava just knew she had to follow him. She groaned as the door insulted her, and as the knob even bit her hand, and seeing that the unlocking spell was not working. She needed a key. She had to find the right key as she saw a bunch of keys around and guessed she'd have to try them all to see which one was the right one and hoping she would fit into that door as well somehow.

Looking around for that silly key, Ava wondered if she was imagining things. Apparently things were changing places, or were they? She stared at the raven, raising a brow and clutching her wand almost preparing to shoot a fire spell at it. She found several broken and weird objects lying around and as she found a few keys she stuffed them in her pocket. She was far too suspicious when she saw food and drink there. They probably had been there for quite a while anyway... better not touch them even if she was hungry and thirsty. She gathered a few more keys and then noticed that there was now a dozen doors instead of the insulting previous one.

She counted the keys she had in her pockets as she heard the ticking clock sound. "Just what I needed. Time's ticking...I better hurry... Who knows how long I'll be stuck here..." She found a few more keys as she searched through the mess. She now was only missing two. She picked up the pace in her search for the missing two keys as she as well tried to guess which key would match which door. Light bulb moment! Ava remembered the desk and searched through the drawers. That's where she found the last two keys. She then retrieved all keys and began analysing the shapes and sizes as she looked at each door before her.

The great key debacle was truly an issue as the search progressed you found hundreds of keys, and obviously some of them were the proper ones but which one and for which door? Of course cleaning the room would also help but how clean was something truly? With the filth that had been in here you were still likely to catch a communicable disease. How someone could be so messy it was hard to say, but the rabbit’s house definitely looked like an episode of Hoarders gone wrong. Oh dear, was that dung you’d just stepped in? Now this whole thing was just getting to be unreasonable and completely unsanitary. It seemed like you cleaned an area of the room and found keys but as soon as your back turned the filth reappeared, how disgusting. The only silver lining in this whole thing was you seemed to have managed to finally find every single last stinking key that existed in this room, or you dearly hoped so because going through that hazardous waste again simply wasn’t an option. Your victory celebration was interrupted by the flapping of wings, how foolish were you to forget about the raven?

The bird launched itself from the desk and came speeding toward you faster than a freight train, swing your hands to try and spare yourself you end up flinging your wand half way across the room. The bird dive bombed you with it’s claws spread heading directly for your eyes, the bird repeated the action until it got bored. At that point it took to sitting on your shoulders and using it’s beak to savagely try and peck your eyes out, whatever you’d done to this bird it looks like you’d seriously offending him. Birds were such docile animals, you’d obviously done something amazingly stupid to set it off considering it seemed to be out for blood. After some struggle you finally managed to get the bird to leave you alone, although it returned to the desk in the corner it watched you wearily as if poised to attack you again at any moment. Looks like you needed to be careful and not set the bird off again.

In your search for keys you’d come across a ornate gold box and a bottle that seemed suspiciously clean so you’d decided to set them on a nearby table. One key you had found was tiny and beautiful gold, clearly matching the box you’d found. On a whim you opened it and found a delicious looking pastry inside it, the bottom of the lid contained a piece of parchment that said eat me. As soon as you noticed the parchment in the box one appeared on the bottle that said drink me. Well it was rather nice of them to provide refreshments but you weren’t quite ready for anything yet, getting out of here was far more important. You went to the first door and began with the keys, about thirty in you found the right key and swung the door open. The knob of course being disgruntled at being turned so hard bit your hand like the one early. It revealed a brick wall, well what good did that do? Cussing you went on to the next door and finally managed to open it as well, only to be met with horrible nazgul screeches and the bitten hand again. You repeated the process a few more times-knobs biting you each time- until door six swung open, it was miniscule. ”Aint fittin your giant arse through here.” It cackled at you before biting your hand.

By this point you were feeling rather famished and needed to think of a way to get through this door since it appeared to be the right one. Returning to the table you cautiously removed the cork from the bottle, the contents were blue and smelled surprisingly sweet. Of course it was fine so you took a big swallow of it, only to be met by the surprise of a lifetime. The liquid turned chunky like expired milk and tasted worse than one hundred year old eggnog, oh dear you wanted to retch. Suddenly your head felt funny and you realized all the furniture in the room was growing, no that surely couldn’t be right as furniture simply didn’t grow. If the furniture didn’t grow that only meant one thing, oh dear you were shrinking. Well that solved your problem about getting out the door right? Now that you were the proper size you could see a beautiful sprawling green lawn with a dirt path that lead to a forest outside the door, oh how pretty. Skipping forward you rejoiced in knowing freedom from this terrible house was now here. Everything was going marvelously until you tried to actually go through the door, instead of escaping you ran into a clear plexiglass barrier. Stepping backwards, clearly stunned the doorknob smirked at you. ”Wrong door dumbass.” It howled before slamming shut.

Once Ava had all the keys, she sighed as the room seemed even messier. She vowed to never ever get caught in a dirty rabbit hole again. Looking at keys and doors, she felt a bit overwhelmed. Upon hearing the flapping of wings, Ava didn't have time to react as the bird launched itself at her. Great, just what she needed! Watching as her wand flew halfway across the room, she cursed and tried to protect herself as the stupid bird tried to get to her eyes with its claws. Over and over again, until it finally got bored or something.

On second thought, might just have wanted to make Ava believe it was over, when obviously it wasn't since it now sat on her shoulder and used its beak to try and peck her eyes out, Ava tried to get rid of the nuisance. What a joke, of course it did nothing. After some struggle, Ava finally managed to get the bird to leave her alone, even if she saw it went back to the desk in the corner, watching her every move probably preparing itself to attack her again. She slowly got to the spot where her wand had previously landed and pocketed it paying very little attention to the bird, or pretending not to.

Finding an ornate gold box and a bottle that seemed suspiciously clean, Ava decided to set them on a nearby table. One of the keys Ava had was tiny and beautiful gold, clearly matching the box she'd found. She impulsively opened it and found a delicious looking pastry inside it, the bottom of the lid contained a piece of parchment that said eat me. As soon as she noticed the parchment in the box one appeared on the bottle that said drink me. Ava raised a brow. She'd have to be careful with these two items. Focussing on the doors, Ava tried key after key to get the first door to open. Cursing as she got bitten by yet another door, Ava groaned as she saw what was behind that door. The second door was no better with the nazgul. Ava gripped her wand almost wanting to make sure every doorknob would be stunned or something as she was getting tired of being bitten.

Door number six made Ava smile slightly hopeful that she could get out of this trap soon. They could not be all bad, could they? Her smile soon faded at the insult the minuscule door cackled at her right before biting her. "These insults about my weight are not going to work...I know there's a trick...." Ava's stomach decided to growl as if it wanted to remind her that there was a drink and a pastry she had found earlier waiting for her on the table. Returning to the table she carefully removed the cork from the bottle, the contents were blue and smelled surprisingly sweet. As soon as she tried it, she started regretting it as the liquid turned chunky like expired milk and tasted so bad she was just about to vomit.

Again with feeling weird she looked around thinking she was imagining the furniture growing or something. Realising it was the opposite, she smiled weakly. "At least now I can get through that door...so much for that horrible tasting liquid..." Ava could see a beautiful extensive green lawn with a dirt path that lead to a forest outside the door. Seemed fine. Skipping forward she was glad to be soon free from the "Filth House" as she now called it. However as she tried to get out, she was halted by an invisible barrier. Stepping backwards, in shock, Ava's anger was now back at the doorknob's words. She glared at the door at it slammed shut and closed her eyes counting to ten before calming down as she reopened them. "Okay so if that horrid liquid makes me smaller, that pastry should make me bigger, right?" She hoped she was right. Little Ava made her way as best as she could to the pastry and took a small piece of it, closing her eyes and hoping she wouldn't regret it, but expected it to turn out just as bad as the liquid did. Through gritted she said: "Off with your head, Rousseau!"

Talk about some seriously rude doors, and now you were tiny so how did that help anything? At least you could kick the door if you wanted to, but all you’d probably get is a broken toe considering your luck thus far. Just as about you were to express your anger at the door that had just ruined your chances the door itself completely disappeared. Well that was curious. In fact the doors you had tried earlier were now gone and new ones had appeared in other places, oh dear this wasn’t going to be good. Now you weren’t going to fit through of any of the doors available, not like you would’ve been able to lift any of the keys at your present size. It was abundantly clear now that if the blue water looking concoction in the bottle made you tiny that the pastry was going to make you grow. How were you going to get back on the table? Especially now that the Raven was circling above you?

[[OOC:Please RP out in detail getting to the table, up it and to the pastry. Be creative here, and make sure your character interacts with the Raven in some way. Yes the bird is trying to gouge out your eyes.]]

What a pain in the ass this whole thing was beginning to become, and after the false sense of security the potion had lured you into it made you hesitant to try the pastry. However, what other option did you have now? Spelling yourself bigger certainly wouldn’t work, although it was almost certain that some boys had tried it on a certain part of their body and failed miserably. Wonder how many late night visits Healer Lufkin got for that exact probably, it was probably better you didn’t have to have her job for that exact reason but it provided her with ample blackmail if needed. Taking a tiny piece of the pastry hesitantly you nibbled on it, it was the most delicious and decadent thing you’d ever eaten. Of course it was like the addictive turkish delight in Narnia, you had to have more. You grew bigger, taking a bigger bite you continued to grow. Everything was fine until you hit your head on the ceiling and the lovely pastry turned rancid on your tongue, even though it was terrible you still swallowed it because for some reason you were unable to spit it out. The flavour caused you to dry heave for several minutes, unfortunately nothing came up but your stomach settled a little. Your heart dropped realizing you were now entirely too big to fit through the any of the doors, even if you managed to find the right one so you’d have to drink that potion again. Oh bother, better try some more doors before drinking that again.

[[OOC:RP out unlocking at least a minimum of 4 more doors, none of them will be the proper one out. Be creative and detailed, I don’t want you to open all the doors to the same thing each time or a brick wall. Remember each knob will bite your hand.]]

Still angry at the stupid door and the stupid drink, Ava watched as the tiny door suddenly disappeared. "Great! Now what?" She noticed that other doors she tried to open also disappeared leaving their spots to new doors. "Seriously?" She groaned as she realised that being as tiny as she was, she wouldn't be able to get to these doors to unlock them or even get the keys in the locks either. Then she remembered the cake. If the disgusting drink made her tiny, the cake must make her bigger, right? From her point of view, she could also see the raven. That darn raven circling above her. Great! So much fun! she thought.

Sighing loudly thinking that at least she had her wand back now, she tried to navigate through the clutter groaning and then had an idea that would probably end up with her being bitten or hurt again anyway. Oh well! She looked at the bird and said as nicely as she could: "Instead of trying to poke my eyes out, maybe you could help me? Just a little bit...I promise to leave you alone after that..." She looked at it with pleading eyes and hoped it would help her for once. She almost had the crazy idea to protect her eyes from the bird by using one of the shrunken bed sheets she had in her pockets as a blindfold. No, that's a terrible idea! Or is it? Her only options were the bird or the sheets...

The sheets! Oh... Ava had an idea: she used the Engorgio charm to make them a bit bigger to use them to climb up the table legs, which was not an easy task, since her shoes kept slipping off the surface and she was also watching out for the bird. At her third failed attempt, she was just about to give up, but she had another idea. Maybe she could levitate a larger bed sheet and use it as some sort of flying carpet? Oh no, she had a better idea... Why didn't she think about it earlier? She could try and place a blindfold on the bird too...maybe? Ava caught the bird's attention and managed to levitate a makeshift shrunken bed sheet blindfold that ended up on the raven's eyes. Great, now he couldn't see her... But he could still hear or bite her., she had to be careful.

She watched as it reluctantly flew down by her and tried to nip at her. "Be nice, Raven..." and then laughed as if that would help. Ava climbed on its back and commanded it to go up as she would direct him where to go. If only she knew how to take control of his mind or something... Finally reaching the table, she ran to the cake and hid away from the bird as she remove its blindfold reluctantly. "Thanks, Raven..." she said softly to it. Sighing, she focussed back on the cake. She took a tiny bite of it. Just in case it would taste awful. Apparently it didn't. It was the most delicious cake she ever tasted and she couldn't have enough. It was as if she had a bad case of the munchies, she just kept eating and eating. Feeling herself grow bigger and bigger, now hitting her head on the ceiling, Ava gasped. "Crap, what have I done?" and of course the cake now tasted horrible on her tongue. As she swallowed it, she felt so sick she wished she hadn't been tempted to taste that cake in the first place. "And now I have to drink that horrible thing again to fit through these doors....yay...", she said sarcastically.

As she drank the horrid liquid again, she slowly reached her normal size. Relieved, she looked at the keys trying to match them with the doors in front of her. The first door seemed to be hiding something creepy, from the sounds coming from it. As she tried a few keys there, she finally found the one that opened it and of course she got bitten by the knob once more...Looking at what was on the other side of the door, she screamed. A fully grown dragon looked at her with its beady eyes as if deciding to eat her or not and she cringed as it roared at her. She slammed the door shut as quickly as she could as she didn't want to end up as a dinner plan for that beast.

She then tried the third door to the right. The paint was coming off of it and she reluctantly looked for the key, the one that fit that door was a bronze key with intricate designs on it. She placed her hand on the knob, kicked the door as of course she got bitten and opened the door to reveal her reflection. Apparently it was a mirror that strangely resembled the Mirror of Erised minus the "magical" part of it. As Ava closed the door again, she closed her eyes trying to eliminate some doors as she really wanted to find the right one.

Reopening her eyes, the coily haired Puff girl picked the last door as the Raven, of course, had resumed flying over her head. as the silver normal looking key she finally managed to fit through the third door, Ava reluctantly placed her hand on the door knob knowing she was about to get bitten again and winced at this one bit hard. Oh another useless door... There was nothing but a creepy old lady taking her bath, scrubbing her back with a brush. Ewwww, thought Ava as she apologized to the lady and closed the door. She would be scarred with that vision forever.

Once again, Ava was trying to eliminate yet another door. She picked the second to the left and tried just about every key she had and so far none of them fitted. That was until she got the last key out. She yelled: "WHO'S THE IDIOT THAT INVENTED BITING DOOR KNOBS? I WANT TO THROW A FEW SPELLS AT HIM OR HER!!" Nursing her hand a little she looked at what the door unveiled. Frowning at the sight she wondered if what she was seeing was true. She saw disembodied animals parts being brought together forming some sort of reptile headed winged horse in a cemetery and slowly began to walk towards her as other strange animals began forming themselves like an army of disembodied animals zombies or something. Fog all around, a strange music worthy of any horror movie and she closed the door shut."That was...weird..." She sighed and shook her head as she chose the fourth door right before thinking of watching where the raven was. Of course, the lovely raven got to her before she could even do something and nipped at her cheek. After a few attempts at shooing him away, it got bored and resumed flying over her head, leaving her with a few more scratches.

Focussing back on the doors, she started the little game of "which key opens this door?" again and the key that matched this door was all slimy her jaw clenched before her hand reached the biting knob and she let out a few colorful words as the knob bit her, blood oozing a little from the continuous biting she had from each door. She slowly opened the door and pinched her nose as a disgusting smell began to fill her nostrils. This and the door looked as if it was made of rotten wood. Why did she pick that one, again? All there was behind that door was some sort of putrid gooey substance, that only achieved to make Ava gag. She closed the door as best as she could and began breathing normally again. She couldn't wait to find the right door...

Who in the hell needed that many doors, seriously was there not something better they could do with their time then build doors? This whole thing was like a fun house gone bad, next thing you knew clowns were going to be popping out at you and it’d really be a hoot. The doors and Raven had made you forget but you noticed that awful ticking of the clock and it was starting to sound awful insistent now. What was it that this damn house wanted from you so you could get out? Blood perhaps? An eerie laugh floated across the room and the Raven joined in making its traditional Kraa sound, it was almost as if the pair was taunting you. The last thing you really wanted right now was to be laugh at, there wasn’t anything funny about this situation. Stepping forward to try another door your toe caught on the floor and you went sprawling. Laying on your back in the filth looking up at the ceiling you debated on getting up for awhile but then finally decided you wouldn’t get out of here unless you did something, not to mention the brown stains on the ceiling appeared to be moving. Standing up you considered yourself fortunate you hadn’t face planted into a pile of the refuse when you fell. Wasn’t it just your luck as you approached another door they changed again?

[[OOC: RP out opening at least three more doors, again none of them will be the right one. Be creative, and get bit.]]

Throwing up your hand in a mixture of disgust and frustration you cussed and kicked something hard, it hit the wall across from you and it was like time momentarily froze because everything went dead silent. After a few moments everything was fine so you breathed a sigh of relief and headed toward your next door trying to remain optimistic it would finally be the right one so you could get out of here. Then the ticking of the clock came back, it was loud and reverberated through the whole room. Oh that was definitely bad, and just as you had the thought a door across the room opened sending beautiful sunlight streaming into the room. Thinking it was the way out you made haste towards it rejoicing in your good fortune until severed limbs (feet, legs, arms, hands, etc) started falling through, they were in all states of decay and decomposition. To make things worse, or in my opinion more fun, they were all animated and coming towards you while all manners of fluid dripped from them leaving a slimy path in their wake. While you’d thought the room stank earlier it didn’t compare to the stench the limbs brought to the room, the clock ticking picked up and it became clear time for you was running out so you needed to make haste.

[[OOC: RP out two more doors. One of your choice. The second will open to another door repetitively, no matter how many times you open the next door another will be behind it. The limbs will reach you whether you like it or not, so be sure to give some gory details of your interaction with them. Examples of possible things the limbs will do: try to suffocate you, try to take your keys, try and drag you through the door they are coming through, try and choke you, etc. Lots of options so be creative.]]

An awful screeching sound could be heard overhead, dear god what now? A giant eagle could be seen circling you overhead, and before you could take a moment it’s giant talons were headed right for you. Scrambling as much as you could you tried to escape the eagle but very quickly after you started your escape giant talons encased you. You flew through the air before the bird dropped suddenly, a few feet away it released you and you landed like a sack of potatoes. Standing up you took a deep breathe trying to get air back in your lungs where it belonged, though you were quickly overtaken by a cloud of choking smoke that made you feel lightheaded and almost high.

user posted image

It took a few minutes by the smoke finally cleared revealing the inside of the arena and the crowd erupted into cheers, by god you were finally finished! ”All participants will report to the Hospital Wing to be given treatment by Healer Lufkin. This is not optional. Well done!” Boomed Emile’s voice. Shortly after a few staff members entered the arena and escorted you back to the castle, past the screaming and cheering crowd.

Triage topic [[OOC: You don’t have to post here unless you want, but IC you have to say your character went to get checked out]]
